In a decade where music moved away from physical formats like vinyl, CD or cassette tapes and towards a new, modern market, there was at first less emphasis for download & streaming services. However, with more opportunities to do it yourself than ever before, great music arrived in their droves in the digital world and so does our 26th release - another intergalactic production by HDSN, which introduces us to a whole new world of his neo soul-filtered 'Super Retro Future' EP. From old school breakbeats to breath taking ambient exhalation the beat juggler is at his best finishing this year in greaze mode. Melancholic parts are complemented beautifully by a number of full-heft dance floor bombs - a rolling locomotive which finds HDSN showing off his command of heavily swung, jungle influenced rhythms. Soulful strings and smokey basslines were fleshed out with willowy pads, vivid synths, electronic blips and shuffling drum machine patterns. The mood is drowsy and hypnotic but also a little threatening. A totally unique and elliptical listening experience. True innovation looks forward, not back and the past must first be confronted, and then cast aside - that's super retro future. Grab ya copy
